The practice behind the conversation

An inner experience.
A form in the world.

From Strait to Create begins with a simple possibility: what feels difficult to hold within us can become something we can see, encounter and work with.

Developed through Dan’s own response to post-traumatic experience, this approach has shaped his sculpture and teaching since 2000. The talks follow that process from the first private gesture to a work that invites others into a conversation.

Through sculptures, images and stories from the studio, Dan explores how creativity can open new perspectives on vulnerability, memory and change.

Themes for a shared conversation

One practice.
Different ways in.

“When we look inward, we discover new ways of looking outward. By giving form to what remains unresolved within us, we can bring it into the world—not only as an object, but as a source of new perspectives and inspiration.”
